Bhagavan Das is a bhakti yogi, a shakta tantra adept, and teacher of Nada Yoga. As a young man he was the first Western initiate/devotee of the late Hindu holy man Neem Karoli Baba, as well as the first American to meet Kalu Rinpoche of the Shangpa Kargyupas lineage. He has received Vajra Yogini initiation from His Holiness the Sixteenth Karmapa Rangjung Rigpe Dorje of the Karma Kagyu lineage and Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, the 11th Trungpa Tulku. During the almost seven years he spent as a wandering ascetic in India, Nepal and Sri Lanka he received numerous initiations and teachings from living saints and sages including A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada[2], Swami Chaitanya Prakashananda Tirtha, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Sri Anandamoyi Ma, and Tarthang Tulku of the Dudjom Rinpoche lineage. More on the website.

Jesse Torgerson has over 20 years experience facilitating people in their emotional healing and personal growth. Jesse Torgerson is a certified rebirther, Phoenix Rising Yoga therapist and Cell Release therapist. She holds a masters degree in counseling psychology from Antioch University in Yellow Springs, Ohio and a masters degree in spiritual psychology from the School of Spiritual Psychology in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Jesse also has extensive training in psychodrama extending her undergraduate work in theater.

Wayeb’ & Mayan Solar New Year

In a Mayan Solar Year there are 18 months of 20 days which total 360 days. There is a 19th month of 5 days called Wayeb’. The Maya had rituals they practiced during this time which they called the “nameless days” or “time out of time”. It is a good time to give thanks for the blessings of the previous year and to reflect on the energy of the new Solar cycle which begins on the following day, the Mayan New Year. This is on February 23rd and has the New Year bearer of N’oj.

We will be holding Mayan Fire Ceremonies throughout Wayeb’ and on the New Year. The “headquarters” are at Tz’an K’ujil in San Marcos L.L. and sunrise ceremonies and sunset invocations will take place there each day. We will also be traveling to different sites around Lake Atitlán to hold midday ceremonies throughout Wayeb’.
