All the animals showed up, all of creation. They decided each species would take care of the land for a generation. When it was the Buffalo’s turn to take care of the land, the Buffalo went up, but when the Buffalo’s turn was up – no one showed up. The Buffalo has been caring for the land for 1,000s of years waiting for the next species to hand it over to. It had been so long since the deal was made, it was forgotten.
